Tempeh Pepper “Steak” Recipe

  • 12 oz. organic tempeh, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 3 tsp. organic toasted sesame oil
  • 1 medium organic onion, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. organic ginger, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. organic virgin coconut oil
  • 2 medium organic red bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 cloves organic garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. organic tamari (gluten free soy sauce)
  1. In a large pot, place a steamer basket over boiling water.
  2. Place the tempeh in the pot and steam, covered, for 5 minutes, or until soft. Set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the oils over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 15 seconds.
  4. Add the sliced onion and peppers; stir fry for 3 to 4 minutes to crisp-tender.
  5. Stir in the ginger and soy sauce, and add the steamed tempeh.
  6. Stir fry to heat through, about 3 more minutes.
  7. Serve.
