Limonoids are phytonutrients found in citrus fruits that help to stimulate detoxification enzymes (including glutathione-S-transferase) in the body.

In lab tests with animals or human cells they have been found to help fight certain cancers including those of the breast, liver, mouth, skin, colon, and lung.

Liminoids may also help lower cholesterol by inhibiting the synthesis of apolipoprotein B, a protein related to high cholesterol.
