Glucose

Glucose is a monosaccharide (or simple sugar). Glucose is an energy source in most organisms, from bacteria to humans. The name comes from the Greek word glykys, which means "sweet", plus the suffix "-ose" which denotes a sugar.

Glucose is found in certain fruits, such as grapes, and can be made in the body from starch, cane sugar(sucrose), milk sugar(lactose), and malt syrup(maltose).
