Angiogenesis

Angiogenesis is derived from the word "angio" meaning blood and "genesis" meaning new.

Tumor angiogenesis is the growth of blood vessels from surrounding tissue into a solid tumor. Researchers believe this is caused by the release of chemical substances by the tumor.
