Spaghetti - derived from the Italian word for "strings" - is made from semolina (Durum wheat that is more coarsely ground than normal wheat flours) and water. Sometimes eggs are added.
There are a variety of shapes of spaghetti: spaghettini is very thin spaghetti; fettuccine and linguine are flat as opposed to round, and fusilli is spiral shaped.
Be sure to choose organic whole grain spaghetti which have a lower glycemic index and contain vitamins, minerals and fiber which are stripped during the processing of "white" spaghetti.
