Peanut Butter

Peanut butter was first introduced at the World's Fair in 1904 and marketed as a health food.

Made from shelled peanuts and oil (which is often hydrogenated) and a small amount of salt, peanut butter has a myriad of culinary uses.

Choose organic peanut butter made from Valencia peanuts grown in arid climates that's free of aflatoxin. We like Maranatha Peanut Butter made with organic Valencia peanuts.

To add variety and nutritional benefits, experiment with different types of nut butters including almond butter and cashew butter.

Culinary Caution! Peanut allergy is the most common allergy in the U.S. affecting more than 1.5 million people. This allergy can cause anaphylactic shock - a life-threatening reaction. If you notice difficulty breathing after eating peanuts or any other food, immediately call 911, use an EpiPen if you have one. Drinking a cup of coffee may also help to increase airflow.
