Mandarin oranges are a loose-skinned orange category that including clementine, dancy, satsuma and tangerine varieties.

The most common mandarin found in the United States is the tangerine, named for the city of Tangier, Morocco.

Along with vitamin C, mandarin oranges also contain phytonutrients called liminoids.
